WIP Wednesday: Stitching the shapes together on this 8" EPP Rose block

Welcome Back to WIP Wednesday!

Last week, I kicked off WIP Wednesday with an 8" English Paper Pieced Rose block.

With a pink Fabric Grip mat, a rotary blade, and my Cricut Maker, I cut half hexagons, triangles, diamonds, and a hexagon out of fusible stabilizer.  Then I cut some fabric shapes with 3/8" seam allowances using my Cricut Maker.  Finally, I glue basted all my shapes.

Ready to Stitch

I'm back today for WIP Wednesday ready to stitch the shapes together.

Stitching Instructions

To start, we'll stitch a half hexagon and a triangle together to form a unit. We need 12 in all of these.

My favorite way to stitch pieces together is with a ladder stitch.  (Stay tuned. I've got a short video on the ladder stitch coming soon.)

Next Steps

Next, we'll stitch a triangle on either side of a diamond.  We need 6 of them.

Let's stitch a half hexagon-triangle unit onto either side of the triangle-diamond unit.

Next, we'll add a half hexagon to the bottom of the unit.  We'll have 6 in all.

Once the 6 units are made, let's stitch them into a ring.

Finally, let's stitch a hexagon in the middle.

The result? This beautiful 8" Rose block.

Do you have your free Cricut friendly svg cut file to make this along with me? If not, then what are you waiting for??

Join me next time for WIP Wednesday. I can't wait to see what you make!
